Allow extra travel time

Demolition and construction of a new bridge and culvert over Goonoo Goonoo Creek, will commence 13 February 2025. The road will close 150m east of New England Highway (just past City of Lights Holiday Park), and 50m west of Burgess Lane. Some weekend work. Increased heavy vehicles in area 7am-6pm daily. Traffic control and detour signage will be in place.

When Chaffey Dam reaches capacity (100%), West Bank Road closes either side of the Dam. Gates close approximately 5km from Woolomin, just past the camping ground, and on the southern side, approximately 4.5km from the Nundle Road intersection. This is a narrow road to turn a caravan. Please note road closure signage at either end of West Bank Road at intersections. It takes significant time for the water to recede, and significant road works are usually required to restore the road surface.
