Construction of the new bridge is progressing, with the expected completion date 10 August 2025. Construction time has been delayed due to wet weather and construction delays.

The road remains closed 150m east of New England Highway (just past City of Lights Holiday Park), and 50m west of Burgess Lane.

 Traffic control and detour signage are in place. Increased heavy vehicle movements daily between 7am – 6pm, including weekends.

From Tuesday 22nd July onwards for approximately 2 weeks on workdays we will be closing the slip lane off Country Rd around onto New Winton Road to allow electrical contractors to safely construct 7 new streetlights.

Traffic control will be in place, reduced speed to 40km/h on New Winton Road during work hours past work site.

When Chaffey Dam reaches capacity (100%), West Bank Road closes either side of the Dam. Gates close approximately 5km from Woolomin, just past the camping ground, and on the southern side, approximately 4.5km from the Nundle Road intersection. This is a narrow road to turn a caravan. Please note road closure signage at either end of West Bank Road at intersections. It takes significant time for the water to recede, and significant road works are usually required to restore the road surface.
